Quality over quantity
My goal in breeding these animals is to contribute to the breeding and show community and improve the quality of hamsters in general. My main focus is selecting hamsters that are rating the highest in temperament, health and composition.
We chose to breed only hamsters with good health, composition and personality. Also, we chose to breed only pedigreed hamsters with known lineage. That means that we will not choose for breeding pet store or rescue hamsters. We want to provide our adopters with the pedigree of our hamsters and as much information as possible about their ancestry and genetic composition. Our stock comes from reputable ethical breeders who have the full knowledge of their lines.
Our goal in breeding these animals is to contribute to the breeding and show community and improve the quality of hamsters in general.
- We want to ensure the health of each hamster bred and all pups produced. Because, the life and well-being of the hamsters is our top priority, we will not choose to breed hamsters with health concerns or adopt them out of the hamstery without the adopter's prior knowledge. We do not breed our females until they are around four-six months and we feed them during pregnancy high protein lab blocks that support gestation, lactation, and growth. We also do not breed our females for more than 2 times in their lifetime. Hamsters are retired at an appropriate age and kept here as pets and spoiled for the remainder of their lives.
- We select for temperament in all hamsters. We choose only the most docile and sociable hamsters to continue our line. We handle all pups once their eyes open, and stimulate their socialization till the age of seven weeks when they go to their new homes. By that time, they will be accustomed to human handling and lots of kisses.
- We choose hamsters with the best composition to continue our lines by adhering to the National Hamster Council (UK) standards. Each pairing is carefully selected from a genetic standpoint and is focused on improving the type and traits of the hamsters.
We wish to set high standards when it comes to proper hamster care. We house our hamsters in cages that exceed by far the 600 square inch minimum requirement, such as 40 gallon breeders, 50 gallon staker bins and modified critter nations. All our hamsters have a wheel that has at least 10 inch diameter and lots of toys for stimulation. They are fed the highest quality lab blocks, Teklad 8640 and Higgins Sunburst Seed Mix. They also get plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, and of course treats. And lastly, but most importantly, they get lots of love and respect (and lots of kisses!).
We develop relationships with people who adopt hamsters from us, offering support for the duration of the hamster's life. We encourage hamster owners to use us as a resource for all their hamster-related questions and contact us anytime they have questions or concerns.
